Ask a new question. I factory reset my laptop after it was giving me a few issues. I was able to back everything up and assumed it would be easy to not only update my windows to the newest version but to transfer everything.

Applications and files are safe and sound, but my computer is refusing to update to the newest version. It is currently stuck on this error “Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 – Error 0x”. I’ve tried everything from the Windows creation tool to even the command prompt.

Should I just take this laptop to Geek Squad or can someone actually help me out with this? It really shouldn’t be this difficult for Windows to update. There are less people who face updates with updates. You may not get that update through settings, so you need to use the update assistant. Even though there are very less chances of data loss, I recommend to take a backup, just to be on a safer side. Also, you may create a system restore point too. Was this reply helpful?

This will upgrade you to the newest build – 21H1 Even though there are very less chances of data loss, I recommend to take a backup, just to be on a safer side. This will download a small tool.
